I was hoping to put this blog up with photos. Unfortunately my family hasn't responded to my pleas of photos. :o)
Savannah had a great birthday! We did it at Someplace Fun in Galt, Ca. They have free video games, lots of jump houses and slides as well as a carousel. There was a TV with the Disney channel for the kids as well. For the adults there was Guitar Hero and an area for shooting basket balls into hoops. Almost all of my family was there. Dave was missing due to work and my sister Cathryn was still in Utah due to school. My sister-n-law Krista also got stuck with work as well.
Savannah got a lot of stuff. I am definitely good on clothes for awhile, especially now that her school is doing uniforms this school year. She had a blast with her cousins. At one point they called her over to the stage with all her family and friends. The guy asked her how old she was and she told him. It was so cute watching her have this conversation with this guy about her birthday. He asked her if turning 6 was stressful. I think she said yes too. He asked her what was her favorite show and color. Then one of us had to say the answer to see who knew her best. She spun a colored wheel and got a little prize. Hailey had fun in the toddler section and hardly moved from that place.
We had cake, cupcakes, pizza and root beer. The place gave Savannah her own personal mini cake. We gave out little butterfly balloons and candy for the kids. Savannah had wanted a butterfly theme. I had to make up the cake with butterflies that you really clip on to your shoe strings. Then I used these two fairies that were ornaments and said they were the butterfly fairies. LOL I went to the store that had promised me 3 hours in advance that they had things to make a butterfly cake. Really they didn't, and I was not happy that I had wasted my time to go all the way out to this store. So off to the dollar tree we went to find something last minute for the cake. In the end it worked out.
Savannah got this game Operation. I remember that game from when I was a child. She also received educational fun things to do and this puzzle of the 50 states with their capitals under the puzzle piece. She got a couple of swim suits, pj's and lots of clothes. Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Krista got her a butterfly barbie. . The wings are big!!! Grandma and Papoo got her Viva Pinata for the X-Box. Uncle Jerret, Jerret and Aunt Jamie got her Wall-E for the WiiShe loved everything she received and it was a miracle that I was able to get it all back home with out being charged extra for my luggage! lol
All in all it was a fun birthday and Savannah and the others liked it. I think the adults had a decent time as well!!
