Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was an interesting, fun and stressful day......

Dave had to work and so the girls and I lounged around all day in our Pj's. I started to watch a movie to help fill my time in peeling two bags of potatoes. My friend called and asked me to do her a favor of shopping for some food as she was stuck working and the store closed at 6 pm. So it's 3:30 and I'm thinking oh snap, I need to shower, get the kids showered and ready and still peel, chop, cook and mash the potatoes. lol SO I get through all of that jazz, run off to my friend other friend's house to check for an important package that showed up after they had to leave for the holidays. I drop my family at my friend Dana's and run to the store. (That's where we were having dinner.) I do a quick shop and run back to our friends just in time for the food.

When I get in the door, they had just said prayer. Of course Hailey had to have her turn with the prayer so she went first, then Ansen had his turn with the prayer. We had yummy food!! Dana made an AWESOME broccoli salad which I need to get the recipe for. We had a lot of food and lots of good company. It was the Widings, us, the older Widing's and the missionaries. After dinner we played domino's with the Elders and the kids watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

After we left the Widing's and dropping the food off to my friend, we went home and put the kids straight to bed which was around 9:30. During the course of the girls sleeping between 9:30 and 12:30, Santa came and dropped off the presents, stuffed the stockings and decorated our tree. This year I didn't feel the Christmas urge to decorate the tree all the way. So the girls and I asked Santa if he would do it. Sure enough, he decorated our tree. Maybe he brought some helpers with him this year. Santa also did our stockings and ate his cookies we left for him.

A tad bit passed 12:30 Savannah and Hailey think they need to wake up because they are way too excited for Santa to come over. The girls and I were up until 3:30-:45 ish. I threatened them that Santa wouldn't come, then I said I would call him and tell him to not come if they didn't go to bed. The girls are smart, they told me Santa didn't have a phone. lol So finally I said fine I would email him or send a note or something. That seemed to get them going. We finally pass out and around 4 something the smoke detector decides to tweak out. It stared in my dream three times when I realized that it wasn't part of my dream. We get that handled and back to bed about 5 pm I go.

Talk about a LONG LONG night!
